Well
Steve Guglielmi has subjected Hoover's Griff to a thorough going over and feels that the following spring rates worked best.
Front 375/425lb (cruising/fast road/ trackday)
Rear 275/325lb (as above)

In all honesty, Steve feels that the rear Gaz shocks could do with a slightly different compression/rebound ratio and Gaz have agreed to instigate this immediately.

WOW.... what a fing difference.

I now have a car I can chuck about thanks to Bugsy (absolute shocks) and Steve G (wont attempt the rest of his name)....

Now to change the tyres to complete the transformation (never even heard of the make on the rear.... and the Bridgtones S02s on the front will be coming off as well).... probably go for Eagle F1s or Toyos on all round

I'll let Bugsy fill you on the tech stuff, i am someone who does not undertsand: thats why we pay our money to these people to listen to what we want and they interupt it to the car.

Having done the same on my S earlier this year.... full benifit of the new damper n springs is not realised until you get the car properly setup alignment, height, weighted..... don't just bung them, get a Pro outfit to do it so you can

Thanks to Steve as well for sorting out my gear box.... thats made a big difference as well (never knew it was knackered thought it was one of them "they are like that"

Hi Hoover, that sounds great. I had my car in at Steves recently to get the shocks & springs replaced and the car setup, he said to wait until he had finished the testing, sounds like it was good advice and he has done a good job.... must give him a call to get booked in again.

Recently replaced my Bridgestones with Toyo R888's all round, these have made a big difference, I reckon the only downside will be the wear rate but thats to be expected with this type of tyre.

Maybe see you at the Ace tomorrow?

Glad you're happy Steve, but we will replace the rears with the different valving suggested by Steve Guglielmi ASAP.

I tell you one thing guys, you should have seen his little white face when SG took him out for a run in the car, good job he had his brown trousers on

Oihhhhhhhh ....

It was at two points....

one lined up to go around around about to turn right..... ended up going left.... my road lines totally wrong in my head..

and

another roundabout after being told two secs earlier rear tyers were shite, and being powered round with rears gripping n lossing...

I did ask to go out as passenger for a reason though... I aint a skilled driver so I needed to know what car was cappable of so.. so more driving skillls was not limiting ... boost my confidence of handling etec (ok... and the rush of the ride )

Just remember one thing Steve, SG is one of the better drivers around and we want to see you enjoying yourself for some time to come, so take it easy

My car is also handling like a go-cart and I'm driving it much faster than I used to but I'm aware of my limitations and keep telling myself to not push it too far.

I'm going on a few of the handling courses next year and I urge everybody who improves their car's handling to also improve the driver to match.
