Underbody 'restoration' work
Discussion
My car is not a classic or not yet anyway, but I am struggling to find someone to perform exactly what I am looking for and this part of the forum maybe my best shot. Anyway the car is a late Honda S2000 and as some of you will know these did not come particularly well undersealed. Luckily mine is fine right now, but the rest of the car is a minter so I want to find a garage/restorer who will carry out a full underbody 'restoration' in as much as removing all the suspension, subframe, petrol tank, removing the existing underseal, preparing the underside, painting it as in not just coating it with Waxoyl or Dinitrol, but leaving a finish and then reinstalling all the components following blasting and powder coating where possible. AutoTorque in Aylesbury do this for Mitsubishis but despite them quoting me I cannot now get them to respond so looking for alternatives.
I wondered if any of the classic car people in here would know of such an establishment, location is largely irrelevant (anywhere in England) as it's the quality of work I am interested in.
Any help appreciated

I was looking for places for a friend of mine who bought a grey import from Japan 3 yrs ago and Auto torque were on my shortlist at the time!
We never got it done in the end but others I found are Pro-tect in Milton Keynes:

There was a place in Tipton using Krown products from Canada but their website is now 'under construction.'
A few 4x4 forums would likely be able to recommend somewhere too.

Often considered doing this - does it dry to a waxoyl-like finish? If you wanted to remove it, would it be a case of getting physical with a pressure washer and a brush..?
It might be a long shot, but you could talk to Barry at B M Kempton in Cambridge. It's a bodyshop, but he enjoys working on out of the ordinary stuff, however the mechanical stuff might be more than he's willing to take on. If he does, expect it to take a while, as he will do it as fill in work around insurance jobs.
There's a BMW specialist who used to do exactly that, mostly on BMW's obviously. They've got a YouTube channel where they've detailed what they do and the standard appears second to none.
Redish Motorsport is the company.
I get the impression you're looking at something in the region of a £15k Labour bill though.

Working on the underneath bits of a car that's been 'treated' to a coat of filthy engine oil sounds horrible. There are plenty of much better products designed for the task.
^^THIS^^ and in addition, I believe old engine oil contains all sorts of nasty acidic and corrosive chemicals which probably won't do the car any good long term.Skyedriver said:

He seems to be favoured by the Land Rover community
He was in Newbury at the time.(2007) but is now in Rugby
He did not take anything off, but he had developed his own probes to get into body cavities
Happy with the result.
The car smelt of the rustproofing chemicals for a long time
