A Daftlad exclusive.

TVR have bought the Italian Superbike manufacturer Benelli and will move production to Blackpool. Looks like we will see a motorbike with a TVR badge afterall.

It also looks like Moleskins still has some money left!!

Do they make a profit?
If so they could fund TVR. If not this must just be a game for him as that'd be 2 companies which make no business sense.

Feeding it to babelfish yields;

The historical pesarese factory has been bought from the miliardario of 25 years,
Nikolai Smolenski, owner of the English brand of sport car
Benelli sold to the Russians
It enters in the group of the TVR

Benelli TNT

The Benelli Motion - historical pesarese factory of ciclomotori and motorcycles - has been bought from a Russian miliardario of 25 years, Nikolai Smolenski, owner of the English brand of sport car "Tvr", cars of wraps high from the 90mila euro in sù. The Benelli it has been yielded from the family Merloni di Fabriano, than it had found some years to it ago from the Selci family.
Next Wednesday, an old encounter between and new property will sanction the effective passage of management. The control will happen through the constitution of one new society.

He is good at buying marginal companies - they are barely keeping their heads above water - but if he can have TVR and Benelli making good products in 2 -0 5 years he will have done a great job. Ooh to have been given Millions buy you dad....!

As a lad in the 70's, the only notable thing Benelli seemed to have (while we were blasting about on our Kawasaki and Honda 'fours') was that they had a straight 6.

....wait a minute....a straight six....and it seemed compact and reliable....

So...maybe a lightweight Tuscan with a 750 or 900cc engine...or a fairly podgey bike with a 4 litre lump

If you look at the concept bikes drawings that were released recently there is a definate similarity but in the TNT and the SuperSport style bike...
