Oil in the airbox (Mk2 Golf GTI 16v 1989)

Hello I recently used this car for a track day. It got pushed pretty hard all day long. When it got home I found oil in the airbox. It looks to have got there throught the throttle body. There is even a slight oil leak from underneath the throttle body itself.

Never noticed a marked reduction in performance over the day. Just concerned that I have broken something somewhere.

What effect will oil in the airbox have on the engine, injectors, breather system, etc

What is the fix?

Anyone got any answers they'll be well received. ta

Had one when they first came out, and from new it did this, as did a mates, also from new, guess it can't harm the filter too much as some filter are soaked in oil for better filteration anyway.

They all do that Sir.....

Not much help really I spose but at least it's nothing serious.
