Hope the folks who have installed aftermarket ECUs can help with this as I just can't work it out.

I'm in the middle of my Speeduino ECU install but I think I was a bit gung ho in ripping out the old loom and I'm left with a load of wires I just can't identify.

The 'Bible' says I'm looking for a White/ Slate wire on the wiring diagram, but then contradicts itself on another page saying that is for Tachometer signal.

I downloaded the Canems install pdf which was useful to get some of the wiring identified but the really confusing thing is my car 95 Chimaera 400 HC doesn't seem to have the brown or clear multiplugs that it shows and what others are describing on their installs.

It says I should be looking for a white/ green wire but I have 3 of them! they are all connected to each other but not to the ignition switch. I really don't want to have rip into the loom to the ignition switch but looking like I have no option.

Can anyone help?

These are the wires left in the footwell.

The brown and white connectors described should live behind the radio unit, remove it and take a look.
I can’t quite remember the wire colours sorry but the brown connector has the important connections in it, easily identified with a test lamp.

The white/green is the one you are looking for. It comes from the brown connector in the last picture but just to confuse you it is white going in and white/green coming out.
If it is any help PM me for my wiring diagrams. They are drawn in Visio so you can edit them for your new wiring.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for this. Ahh that explains why it's showing 'White' on the diagram nearer the ignition switch. The thing that is really confusing me is the diagram in the Bible is showing the colour as WS not WG. Your wiring diagrams would be really useful, will PM.

Thanks
Robin

Where to connect into the ignition positive supply depends on whether a very good supply is needed or a supply that could fail at any time due to fusebox or immobiliser failure

It's big decision time

The white ignition switch input supply to the fusebox can be found at fusebox black plug B terminal 15
