Could the problem be related? The wipers work, the water stopped squirting yesterday, but the indicators have been playing up for months (and finally gave up the ghost a few days ago)

Ribbon cable would be the first thing to check.
Remove steering wheel, check tiny white connectors are firmly in place.

is the water pipe still attached to the wiper blade, if not it's been merrily squirting water into the engine bay...water....electrics.....hhhmmmmmm Could be. The rubber on mine perished and needed to be attached a little bit firmer.

Twas done by dealer not 2 months ago, due to indicator problems.

Dealer told me my piping had melted months ago, said they reinstalled it where it wouldnt melt. They can look at it when it goes back in.
