B&O Center speaker issue F10 M5

Hello!

Picked up a new to me F10 M5 today, seems a good car however the center speaker on the dash doesn't rise up when the stereo is on, has anyone had this before?

Has it been unplugged by any chance? There were recommendations a while back on improving the sound stage by disconnecting the central speaker ~ on some BMW forums. Some disconnect due to rattles.

If it’s still putting out sound then the obvious suspect is the mechanism e.g. motor, clips etc. I’d remove it to see if there are any debris or foreign objects obstructing anything. Even used online these don’t appear to be cheap replacements.

Trade purchases? Back to dealer.
