Driver's door won't lock/unlock with fob - help diagnose pls

It's a 07 plate Mazda 6...

It doesn't unlock with the central locking with the fob or internal lock, but does with the key* ETA now opens with the internal lock! Odd...

Not sure what other info might be required, so ask away!

*Which I only thought to try after it was mentioned in a Google hit. After I've spent the last hour pulling the door card off with the door shut! Got to laugh though, it's my wife's car and she's been climbing in from the other side since it went last week, including multiple home visits yesterday.

See the edit. The internal lock now works and activates the central locking.

Points to it being the central locking module, no???

And after fiddling about with it some more it'll lock on the fob with a bit of groaning but not unlock.

Tried lubricating all the moving parts & checking they're all free?

Car battery fully charged using a battery charger? - if only to eliminate one of the biggest causes of electrical issues. (The ONLY alternative is to fit a known good battery which has been fully charged using a battery charger!)

Thanks. Lubed everything that I can and it now locks on the button and sometimes unlocks.

Good call on the battery, it only really does short journeys so I'm charging a booster pack as we speak...
