I can't think of anyone who would wear this. It violates the golden rule of not making your customer look like a prick.

Would have sold out the post couple of Christmas's with COVID restrictions but launching it in spring is a bit silly as if you use it outside when the weather nice you'll be left with some odd tan lines and look like Homer Simpson.
The mouth guard would be transparent to help with the tannijg issue and make it seem more normal looking, also to help those who are hard of hearing and rely on lip movements.

Not sure if we are the market for these, if it isn’t an April fools. Don’t know if any of you have travelled to India or China?
I would wear one there on bad pollution days. I ended up buying N95 masks (way before Covid) because the pollution was horrendous. That stopped the tight, wheezy chest and massive amounts of blacked mucus but didn’t stop red eye. Honestly thought about wearing swimming googles, because my eyes were so irritated but stopped short of that.
N95 masks in 35 degree heat are not the best. I suffered in those countries. Was really glad to get back to Blighty and see blue skies and be able to breath freely. TBF, the locals told me you do get used to it and it was particularly bad when I visited, but still.

Can the people in those countries that need it the most afford to buy it though?I would wear one there on bad pollution days. There's something really wrong about arriving by plane to a polluted developing country from thousands of miles away, putting a very expensive piece of tech on your face that most people around you can't afford, and where said tech is one of the reasons the country is so polluted in the first place (making consumer goods and tech for westerners).
Wired said it better than I can: "In short, the goal here of providing portable clean air for us to breathe as we callously continue to pollute our planet is laudable. But the Zone looks very much like it's clean air for the rich, for the comfortable, for those who likely have access to preferable environmental conditions already. And that's a thought almost as uncomfortable as looking in the mirror wearing these headphones."
A complete flop in the making. And not available for 18 more months!!

Loads of rich people in China and India, the sheer numbers make sure of that, even if overall the population isn’t as wealthy.
Also a very good point about exporting pollution. You always see articles criticising China’s environmental record, when lax environmental controls, subsidised coal etc allow them to produce goods cheaply for the rest of the world.

Yeah agree - there are a lot of people with money, but as a percentage of population it's pretty small. It's an odd product for a company that also awards prizes to product design students that genuinely help people overcome problems.Loads of rich people in China and India, the sheer numbers make sure of that, even if overall the population isn’t as wealthy.
