It's official, a Saturday night race along the famous strip in November from 2023 onwards, meaning 3 US races...

Fascinated to find out how they go about this logistically, apparently all the big casinos are on board but even so I imagine they have a limited amount of time with that section of the strip fully closed.

Kudos for doing it properly this time. I can't believe they're shutting down Vegas and racing down the strip smile

Too early to guess how good the actual racing will be, but I've no doubt the spectacle will be epic.

Will this replace COTA?

Wow, *that* is how you do a street race!

This will be Monaco on steroids, fair play to them for doing it properly and racing on the city streets, rather than a car park.

Presumably not a lot of support races, to minimise the time needed to close the roads, and a lot of temporary footbridges and contra-flows in place to keep people moving between the casinos.

Will be on boxing match time zone for the European market though, 4am in the UK?

They probably don't have to shut the casinos. You can pretty much go from one casino to the next without having to walk across a road, they are either interconnected or there are footbridges.

3 races in the States? That's taking a Liberty..

I notice it's anti clockwise too.

A point and squirt race. With many DRS zones we could see some overtaking on the 3 straights.

It doesn't look the most exciting / challenging of layouts but maybe it could produce good races.

Lol, I meant shutting down the roads - the casinos will most certainly be open and packed!

You can visit half a dozen casinos without setting foot outside in certain areas of Vegas. I notice they don't seem to be racing around the bail bond shop area.....

Vegas really is a weekend place, we arrived at the weekend and it was packed but on a Monday evening it's almost like a ghost town. Should be a spectacle but looks like another fast street circuit.

To be fair there pretty good re closing down the roads, we went for New Years and the Strip was closed 3 blocks either side of Las Vegas Boulevard.

I’d really like to attend but we’re due (celebrating a big anniversary) to be there around the 6th Nov 23 and it sounds like this will run at thanksgiving.

Yup! I’m definitely going to try and get there, as soon as the dates and track layout are properly confirmed. Will be an epic weekend.

3 US races?
Are the Americans finally following F1 ? Or is still a curiousity?

Still I suppose the Russian GP won't be happening for a few years, do there's a vacancy in the calendar.
