Why is Microsoft so difficult?

I've a new laptop which i've signed in to my organisation.

I want to add a new user (someone who doesn't have a Microsoft Account) so that he can log on as himself with his own password and use it to browse the internet and access MS Office (not networked)

It will only be used for a few weeks

I've tried the obvious - Settings - Accounts - Other Users - Add someone else to PC

Clicked on 'I don't have the user sign in info' -'Add user without a MS account''

Given him a user name and password

And..... there's no way i can access it from the switch user logon page

Anyone got any ideas?

Try a restart. And switch users from the windows sign in page upon a fresh boot.

The account needs to be signed into and given some time to configure itself (sometimes means running/clicking through one-off Windows dialog prompts).

Only after that can you switch users from within one account to another.
