Solar PV trickle charger?

Has anyone tried one of these? My wife just heard about them on the radio just now. Worth it? Gimmick?

There are good and bad.
If your cigarette lighter socket/12v outlet doesn’t stay live with keys out then it cannot be used as the connection route.

I had a large fold out one and it kept the battery topped up in the Summer but was of little value in the Winter.

It was like this, 13W and came with a charge regulator. I no longer use it, which tells you how much I rate it.

As above, if your cigarette lighter socket does not remain live (many don't) it is of no use to you at all.

You can direct wire to the battery but would need a thingamybob to prevent overcharging.

AA do one that connects via OBD port, so no cig lighter socket issues.
