Niche request, I know, but, I thought it might be a giggle. Was at a track a week or two ago with other things pre a race meeting, had the Pana with me and thought, why not.

It's a Turbo S (non-hybrid) 22 MY on Pilot 4S. It was actually stonkingly impressive on track; very little understeer, didn't really scrub or lurch on turn in, great balance and a lot of fun.

So, has anyone ever tried one of these on Cup2s and any advice on pressures? I asked my OPC and, amazingly, they said "hmm, no-one's ever asked us that before". Tyres and spare wheels arrived today.

...as I thought, a bit niche.

Just as straw poll, does anyone on here actually run a late model Pana Turbo S...? Is it just me..?! I really love them.

I don’t have any input, but I like your thinking

I had my FF on track in Spa and it was good fun (only a couple of laps though)

Many, many threads on here discussing the merits or otherwise of Cup 2s. Having had them on a few cars I would say that if you are planning on doing plenty of track days - why not? For a daily throughout the year, I'd say they would be great in the spring/summer (as long as you can get them up to temp) but be cautious of standing water, for autumn/winter I would stick with the PS4s. Only my opinion based on my experience.thumbup

Not a Panamera but I run both 4S and Cup 2 on my 997.2 S and find the Cup 2s to be around 1 second quicker for each minute a lap takes (in my amateur hands). The sidewalls feel a fair bit stiffer on the Cup 2 which makes them feel much more direct / sharper, which I prefer. The pressures / temps settle much quicker on the Cup 2 compared to the 4S so not as much adjusting required during a track day. Just use the manufacture recommended pressures as that is what Michelin recommend for the Cup 2 when fitted to regular cars.

Interesting replies, thank you, all.

Yes, I should have clarified, these tyres will only be on the car for a brief bit of fun at a few track days, probably 3 or 4 stints of 4-5 laps max. Just felt too cruel to the 4Ss to do more than 2-3 laps.

There is something glorious, though, about seeing a 325 section Cup2 lurking under the rear of a Panawagon. Will report back with findings.
