So, with the new legislation due to come in on 6th July 2022, on all new vehicles sold, I presumme that this will be included in the GR86?
However, no one you speak to seems to know anything about it, or whether it is still planned to go ahead.
I am seriously considering placing a deposit for the 86 this week,, but would probably not bother if this Nanny state system is being inbuilt.
Anyone with any info on it, would be appreciated.

I've got a copy of the dealer launch bulletin, it mentions nothing about ISA. There's a bunch of safety gubbins on the automatic GR86 but it's not on the manual version.

Existing models exempt until 2024. Fits two year run for GR86. It doesn’t have the technology fitted.

That is great news.
The whole point of the car is it’s simplicity, rwd, manual, na etc, without loads of gizmos, so you then really don’t want nanny trying to spoil your funlaugh

I believe, for the moment, you will be able to switch it off. However, I do take your point, it is irritating if the first thing you want to do when you get in the car is take off this, lane assist, auto stop start, confirm that you are quite able to operate the sat nav safely etc

I believe any car type approved for Europe before July 2022 won’t have to have it installed until 2024, any new car that receives type approval after July will have to include it. Would be ridiculous if the something like the new CTR has the system but as above at first the system will be switchable. It does seem a bit nanny state to me though as British roads are already some of the safest in Europe, second only to Sweden.

How do you "put a deposit" if it's not yet available for preorder?
