VW Transporter transmission issues and dealer woes

Hi all,
Thought I'd drop a post on here for some general advice as I feel I'm banging my head against a brick wall trying to get some issues sorted.
I bought a used approved VW T6.1 Transporter manual with 12k miles on the clock last September. Within a week and during some limited use I was aware of a juddering through the clutch pedal in 1st/reverse gear a little or no throttle revs. I also noticed the when changing gears at high revs the is a brief wobble through the chassis when engaging the clutch and upon startup the chassis shudders.
Took it back to the dealer who i bought it off - who reported 'no fault found'. After taking it to another dealer (different franchise) they did acknowledge there was an issue (wanting £1700 to fix) and so this gave me firepower to take it back to the other dealer who diagnosed it as a faulty dual mass flywheel, they also changed the clutch as a good will gesture.
I got the van back, it seemed OK but noticed from cold the issue was there very briefly on first use and then disappears. The other gear change and startup issues were still there (i'd hoped these would have been resolved with the clutch components being changed).
After a month or so I can feel the judder is coming back in my clutch so got it back to the dealer to have a look at it along with the other issues. The dealer reported the same response - no fault found.
Having lost faith in the dealer I took it to a local VAG independent (have used them for repairs in the past to an older vehicle) to take a look at the startup issue alone to see what they thought. After a quick visual inspection and feeding them with relevant info about my other transmission related issues their response left me very concerned. They reckon the dual mass flywheel is faulty or at least they would want to open the transmission to inspect the clutch as they believe the dealer just changed the clutch plates and not the DMF, implying that these are the sort of games dealers play.
It seems a real challenge to get the dealership to help me out and I really don't want to pay out of my own pocket to fix a vehicle that should be otherwise correct from the dealer.
I've tried to contact the dealer showing a report from an VAG independent but as expected I can't get any sense from them as they don't recognise anyone other that a VW dealers report.
I could try taking it back to the other dealer I have used but they threatened to charge me the last time as they are not happy to be used as troubleshooters for work I end up taking to another dealership!
Does anyone have any advice or experience to help me progress on this?

Correct me if I'm wrong but if your within the 3 yr manufacturer warranty or have the VWFS extended warranty through used approved you can use any VW dealership to complete the investigation & subsequent repair .. ie take it for repair at the dealer who's diagnosing the fault
Yes I’d agree but my experiences with one dealer is that they wants me sign off the costs to repair in case it’s chargeable and the other just denies there’s ever any faults.The Cardinal said:
How bad is the issue, OP? My 2013 Transporter has always juddered slightly in 1st and reverse, and I drive sympathetically around it.
My 2011 doesn't have any of those symptoms. If the OP has bought a 6.1 from a main dealer then I'm guessing it won't have been cheap so having to adjust your driving style around a fault shouldn't be an option.Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
