Hi All

I’m off to Bath in a few weeks for a Friday night. Dinner has been arranged by someone else so I’m looking for a decent brunch / lunch place and good cocktail type bars. Ideally I’d like to find a live piano / jazz bar or somewhere like the Jam House in Birmingham where I can book a table for me and the handbrake. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I can highly recommend the wild cafe for brunch, young vibrant and independent.

Hall and Woodhouse good for drinks, especially if sunny and you can sit on the roof. Opium good cocktails, and The Botanist is in a really nice building.

Good independent restaurants for lunch are Circus and Firehouse Rotisserie. More brunchy is Boston Tea Party.

Enjoy!

Greenpark Brasserie.

Technically the best cocktail bar is/was the bar inside the Gainsborough Hotel but it won't be lively, that said i never came away dissapointed, ever. Thinking about it, it is probably one of the best hotels i have ever stayed in.
