Mr Benn was a firm favourite of mine growing up. I would have been watching when I was around 7 years old.

My kids have Elmer books and my 7yo son brings them home from the school library. I didn't realise he was the author, It's kind of nice knowing we have a little childhood connection.

He also did Not Now, Bernard which I thought was a great book.

Upsets some people - reviews on Amazon are eye-opening that people really can interpret a kids story in such ways - but I always felt the ones most appalled were probably the ones he had in mind while writing it...

We've got an Elmer too. Great legacy.
