Mclaren 570s or 650s - best resale value?

Looking at both 570s and 650s.

Prices for both are hovering around £100k'ish.

Which one would have a better resale value long term?

I don’t know for certain, but i’d say the one with more power that they made fewer of, so the 650 S.

650s for sure. They are very cheap at the moment, relatively speaking. The 12C seems to have bottomed out.

I'd be wary of any modern Mclarens residuals.

they depreciate more than any other 'supercar'

The resale value will be what is but out of the two, for me the 650S is the pick.

New or nearly new thats definitely true, but for a used model such as the 12C. 650S or 570S they are holding well. If anything residuals have gone up recently.

A Ferrari

Find me a £100k Ferrari which drives as well as either of the McLarens. They really are spectacular value at the moment, in as much as anything can be called that in this crazy market.

I'd go for a 599.

Enzo engine. only going up in value. amazing looks and sound.

however I spent £80k on a 993 when that would have bought a a Mclaren at the time so that might say more about me.

They spend ages listed for sale, they discount new ones, there's stock everywhere. that says a lot.

With respect, that just tells me that you prefer Ferrari over McLaren for whatever reason - and that's fine if you're a Ferrari person.

The 612, FF, 599, 575M and 550 are all grand tourers so aren't even in the same class.

The F455, 360 and F430, while magnificent cars in their day, are all old and eclipsed by the better, more modern McLaren 570S. Don't forget the 570S was going toe-to-toe with the Ferrari 488 and doing very well against it considering how much cheaper the 570 is.

The 650S is on another level again and is ridiculous value at the moment for a full on supercar.

£90k buys you a sensible mileage (i.e. issues ironed out) 3 year old 570S with a warranty that will make a mockery of not just everything mentioned above, but most things +/i 30k? Maybe more.

They are incredible value given the performance on offer and comparing them to a 360 or a 430 is laughable. From the Ferrari catalogue you'd need a 488GTB to live with the 570S and the price difference between those is massive.

you know why you think they're 'value'? because they're not really in demand. they've got massive running costs still. if you want one, go for it. Mclaren owners are like boat owners, the second best moment is when they buy one. the best moment is when the finally manage to sell it.
