Anyone have any idea what could be causing a noise like a untuned radio coming come the scuttle panel area of a mk3 Mondeo.
I first noticed it about a week ago so disconnected the battery to shut it up which seemed to work however have just walked by it and it's doing it again I thought maybe the battery lead had creapt back to post but it hasn't any ideas?
ETA I thought maybe alarm sounder but with no battery?

The alarm will probably have its own backup battery to prevent the car becoming an easier target to steal with a simple snip of the battery cables.I first noticed it about a week ago so disconnected the battery to shut it up which seemed to work however have just walked by it and it's doing it again I thought maybe the battery lead had creapt back to post but it hasn't any ideas?

Sounds like it or the alarm sounder could possibly be dying.
Do you know if the alarm works correctly otherwise?

As far as I know the alarm works fine although I rarely need to lock it so it's not often set.
Also being an ST220 I believe it comes with a Thatcham alarm as standard if that matters?
Not familiar with the car myself but a quick google shows this up:Also being an ST220 I believe it comes with a Thatcham alarm as standard if that matters?

Maybe arm the alarm and then intentionally set it off and see what happens? If you hear the same noise instead of your alarm then you know where to look.
