I’m struggling to get product liability cover for my eBay business due to the nature of the items I sell - some are used, some are unused but not sourced directly from manufacturers ie. Clearance stocks, returns etc.

Would appreciate any input from anyone with knowledge of the insurance industry or who’s had similar experience.

Happy to recommend my broker who seems able to source cover for my various wacky needs - albeit very different sector. PM me if of interest.

Also sent you a number of a broker I've thrown some strange situations to over the years.

I am.

I can't give you a quote as it's more a risk for the independent type broker.

What products are you selling?
Should they cause damage to the buyers property what could this be?
What would the cost of the damage be?
Could it be proven that the product you sell caused the damage to property or injury to person?

I'd argue a case for self insurance depending on your risk.

Is products liability required to sell on ebay?

are you trying to buy product liability in isolation? if so that is challenging for a small business.

You need to pick an independent broker who will be able to get you a package for your business that includes it. Stand alone product liability cover has much higher minimum premiums than business packages, so you get more cover for less.

Used goods, whilst challenging, isn't that hard.

I'd offer to help, but I'm not up and running again till after December this year due to restrictive covenants.
