MOT expired 2015

Hi from a new member,

My daughter has seen a car she wants my opinion on. Everything looks ok except the gov.uk mot records say mot expired 7 years ago.

Is this a big red flag? I’m sure the dealer will have some story ready, just want to be prepared.

It could have been on a private plate. If its just come off it it can take a few days for everything to sync back together

The car could have been in Northern Ireland since 2015, where they use a different system.

Guess this is a DVLA database issue?

A HPI check will likely show what's going on - wait and see if Dan W comes back though as IIRC he often comes up with the goods

Stick the reg in the WBAC free checker, seems ok on there to me.

Hpi clear shows no issues, not stolen and nothing suspect so far.

Doesnt show a previous number also, possibly its been stuck in litigation for a while, whats the mileage now.

Just going to have to ask why no mot and see what they say
