Sentencing council is doing a consultation about pcoj matters, drivers may be interested (speed trap/points) matters.
They are also making a guideline on this offence, a statistics bulletin is provided, it is worth a read.

Thanks - I don't see anything in the draft guidance that really identifies where lying on an S172 would lie? Presumably category 2 (as you have to name an innocent party?) for harm and category C for culpability (not a serious offence and not sophsiticated). Or does category 2 ironically become category 3 when the innocent party is yer missus taking points for you and no longer being innocent? That can't be right surely.
