Clock radios – which are high-quality?

Talk to me about clock radios – which brand makes reliably high-quality products?

I was considering a Pure Evoke F3 because it has FM, DAB and WiFi radio. Pure seems to get mixed reviews regarding sound and overall quality, but so do many other brands

I needed to replace an old clock radio that I think I've had for best part of 20 years

I use a Siesta Rise S240 which has good features.

Pure Siesta Rise

I like being able to set an alarm for weekdays only, no more need to remember to turn it off on Friday and back on on Sunday night. Can charge a phone from a USB socket. Can hit any button to kill the alarm.

Only issue is the autodimming which is always either to bright or too dark.

Also have a Sony that has lasted ages, but there is no modern equivalent.

Like the poster above I like the fact that you can set the alarm for weekdays only so don't have to think about turning it off and on again.

Look no further than Ruark, who make beautiful items with an epic sound. Not cheap but so worth it.

I have a Revo Superconnect. Plenty of connectivity options, slight retro look. Some annoying UI bits and pieces but I like it overall.

Yeah, I just replaced a 20+ year-old Sony with the current version, and that was only so it will charge my Apple Watch overnight:

I bought this Roberts stream 93i a few years ago and have been very pleased with it. It does AM/FM DAB and INTERNET radio, 2 alarms, plus sleep function, and aux in and line out. It has ported speakers and the sound quality is amazing for its size. It doesn't have Bluetooth, but the later 94i does. It looks like a normal radio and you can operate it like a normal radio. Highly recommended!

Another vote for Ruark for their sound quality.
I think the Pure product is pretty nasty stuff

Great sounds and lovely finish.
I bought one for my Mum and she was most amused, as it came with white gloves to handle the thing!
Surprising range of colour / wood choices on some of them.
Luxury end of the clock radio market for sure, but felt felt like it was worth it.

I've always liked the Ruark range, but R1s are now £239 !!

Quality never comes cheap. Ruark items are beautifully made and the sound is yet to be beaten. Go along to a shop and just listen

Over Easter, I have just done so, and Ruark's sound quality was exceptional. WOW!

Got 2 or 3 Pure Evoke 2Ss dotted about the place; lovely sound

We have a Siesta Rise and it is perfect for bedside radio alarm It also allows you set set the max wake up volume and steps the volume when it goes off so you dont get full bore in your earhole.

It's not a Ruark but we don't sit and listen to music in the bedroom either.
