Lower panel switches
Discussion
Hi,
I want to change the 3 switches on the lower dash panel. Has anyone used the switches from CBS I did a search but couldn't find much info on the wiring for these, I can see people have used them but no detail.
A search suggests the chimaera ones are double pole and they have 4 terminals but the ones below I can't get my head around how to wire.

Many thanks
Neal

I was looking at this one as it has blue illumination which will match my race dash.
It says double pole but it doesn't have the 4 prongs which is confusing me to how I would wire it up.

You say the original switches have 4 terminals but don't say if all 4 are in use.
If only two are used then your choice of switch will work fine using just the +12v in and out terminals.
The LED terminals can then be used either to illuminate the switch (during ignition on or when sidelights are on) or to indicate the switch is on.

This is a DPST (Double Pole Single Throw) switch that switches 2 pairs of contacts on/off and the 2 pairs are isolated from one another

This is a SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw)

The contact arrangement of a SPDT switch is not often used for car circuits due to the NC contact not being required
This is good
