Approved used car service out of the network
Discussion
I asked for a price on my M240i as a part ex and BMW Berry got back to me saying they’re unable to come back with a price as it’s been serviced out of the network.
I bought the car from Halliwell Jones BMW North wales as an approved used car.
I called the dealer I bought the car off and the salesman confirmed it was service outside the network but I didn’t matter as it was a VAT registered garage.
The reason I buy my cars from BMW is to avoid dealing with mechanics and someone telling me my car isn’t good enough, I.e, it’s missing a BMW service.
I like having a warranty and BMW approved car so it makes my life easier when I sell.
I can’t find any information on BMW approved cars apart from the generic 2000 point safety check and breakdown cover.
Before I kick up a fuss with either parties on this, does anybody have any info on BMW’s policy, am I going to be out of pocket for trusting BMW?

The warranty (new, AUC, insured) only stipulates VAT-registered and with genuine parts.I bought the car from Halliwell Jones BMW North wales as an approved used car.

Don't think I've ever read anything that says a specific dealership's can't set their own buying policy, so that they choose not to buy cars that have been serviced outside the network.
Although if I found certain NW dealership names in a car's service history I'd be less inclined to buy it than if I found decent independents' names in there
