Found another car and no wants to move the car on. Sounds very much like "bought it cheap, found it's f***** and now want out of it"

Quite.

In fairness, it doesn't read TOO badly until you get to the bit about blue smoke on startup.

There are a few 'tired' ones doing the rounds at the moment. The V12 is known for piston/ring/bore wear iirc.

What's the problem? It's done over 200,000 miles which proves it's fine; a good wash/wax, some underseal and 20/50 oil will be all that's needed. It's only a Jag really, so no worries.

Anyway, Aston owners are gentlemen, they wouldn't dream of selling a duffer to a fellow gentleman wink

You know what?

I think this is about as bad as it gets...

Expensive Parts: Check.
Rust: Check.
Knackered Interior: Check.
V12 Engine needing a rebuild: Check.
Over £10k so not exactly YOLO money: Check.
Intergalactic Milage so even if you fix it up, its worth buttons: Check.
Auto gearbox: Check.

You'd have to mad to buy this. It's a parts car at best.

But if you like doing that sort of project, and have the skills to do it yourself... mileage is meaningless in that context. Not everything has to have a financial profit at the end. It becomes a different kind of proposition.

That said... rust frown

A bit of chicken wire and some clag plus a rattle can will sort that out. On a serious note, I have never known just why Aston Martin spares are so expensive. This age of car must have a large percentage of Jaguar parts in it, but rebranded, so doubling the price. And the engine is but two Mondeo V6 welded together. Are the internals the same? Ford prices may save the day.
