F80 M3 Competition

Thanks for the comments.
I really didn't want the silverstone leather as with a 2 year old (and myself) it would get grubby. Also the black leather seems to look old and worn compared to others, at least thats what photos suggest. I also wanted a different interior leather to lift the cabin a bit.
I'd watched and read loads of reviews about non-comp vs. comp but not only did the improvements sway me so did the residual value.
Oil levels seem stable in the 6 months I've owned it. My main concern is the crankhub, however it's going to Litchfield later this week to have that issue prevented.

Other things that I'm not keen on:
1) You need to press the start/stop button twice when turning the car off.
2) My car is keyless start but not keyless entry which is a bit odd(?). Probably a bigger problem if you live in Birmingham.
3) No android auto.
20" wheels are just too big. The ride is fine but I'd prefer a smaller wheel with a bigger side wall.

2 - Comfort access is not purchased on your car... lots of cars have keyless start but not keyless entry
3- can be retrofitted or enabled depending on your headunit.

The first thing I had to quickly change was my driving style. Coming from a 4WD DSG that would get up and go in any weather, my application of the go pedal had become quite, bad, meaning it was on or off.
The M3 doesn't allow for such driving, which I soon learnt coming off a round about, mashed my foot down and the back end of the car decided it wanted to have a go at being the front of the car instead.
You need to treat the throttle pedal as, well, a pedal and not an on/off switch. Lesson learnt.
I had 6 years in a TVR Cerbera 4.5 and that definitely helped me in that regard. You had to respect the throttle in that as well, or you would find yourself upside down in a field! You car looks so sweet in your most recent photos, and you have got it looking ace.

That's looking great after the upgrades!
I bought the same colour combination M3 last year, I had a grey M140i with red leather in 2016 and loved it, it's a 18 plate..came from a OG m2.
Eurotunnel booked for July to do France, Germany,Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Luxembourg, france and home. Great car in my opinion for the trip as it does most things well!
I'm fortunate enough to have a A3 diesel to do crappy stuff in to try and keep this nice.
I'll look forward to your updates on the car

I was tempted by an OG M2 but A) I really needed all the doors and B) The interior on the M2's is just a let down.
I've a beater to do the train station commute for work and runs to the tip. An 02 plate MK4 GT TDI PD150. My dad bought it practically new. He used to pick me up from school in it, take me out places in it, vividly remember him having the "birds and the bees" chat to me in it too. Recent years it became decommissioned through the typical MK4 Golf water ingress and dad could not be bothered with it. It was going to be scrapped but I rescued it.
It's ok from 50m away. 130k miles and going strong. Needs some TLC.
Lovey car, I’m the opposite to you - I was very tempted by the M3 and I have 3 kids, I ended up with the M2 Comp because I preferred the size and it just feel right for me, I have been using it as weekend / fun car and I absolutely adore the thing.
How have you got on with the Litchfield upgrade? Any problems?
I’ve just had the stage two Litchfield fitted and it’s fooking rapid, very entertaining.

I was very tempted by either an M2 or M4, by comparison at the time of looking, both M2 and M4 could be had cheaper than the equivalent M3. I just find the 5 doors more practical. I believe the M2 is the true successor to the previous M3 due to its size etc but the extra doors appealed to me.How have you got on with the Litchfield upgrade? Any problems?

I pick up the M3 from Litchfield today, they have fitted the crankhub capture plate and a full service. I won't notice anything, anything other than my paranoia of the crankhub failing slipping away...
