After Orient decided to use Sapphire glass, tweak the faces and the colours, what can i say, my hand was forced.

I have picked up a Pepsi and the Special edition for 205 GBP each delivered. I would like to say that I won't buy the other two colours but, I would be lying. I have also picked up a cheaper 125 GBP divers watch with a rubber strap which, I plan to mod as a bit of a hobby job.

You can install ceramic or sapphire bezels into these, fully lumed. I am not convinced either are better than aluminium but someone, somewhere will have a moan about aluminium and the lack of bezel lume, you can change that if you want to.

You can also get wide variety of straps for these, I am going to see what the OEM ones are like before thowing them out of bed.

Here is the 2022 lineup:

I will post updates in this thread, are there any more Orient owners out there?

Great watches - the alternative Seiko.

The gamble was purchasing them I always thought. Where are you getting them from?

Bought myself this Orient a little over 2 years ago. The build quality is very good and attention to detail is very good, it has a nice weight too, feels very solid.
I'd definitely buy another in the future.

^ what is that? Looks lovely.

Anyway I’m delighted with my humble Bambino. Only £60 very lightly used.

Its an Orient Sun and Moon, version 2 I think.

The original strap was a bit too plasticy, so that was swapped for an Aliigator strap. .

A great watch for around £200.

First Orient arrived today, this one will be a beater and I paid £125.

As a previous owner of a UN Chrono Diver I am surprised by the quality. Chuffed would be an understatement.

My Orient Mako is one of the few watches I’ll never part with.

It’s been my exclusive travel watch for a decade.

From swimming with turtles in the Caribbean, and a submarine base in Crimea, to Hitler’s mountain top ‘Eagles Nest’.

Gouged badly in the South Bank whilst ‘tired & emotional’ at Euro 2016, to protecting my left wrist by sacrificing itself and going flying upon a losing fight with gravity & concrete steps in Switzerland.

The sunray blue dial has also by far made it my watch most commented upon by total strangers.

The newer versions are superior but I really miss the idiosyncratic pusher at 2 o’clock to change the date.

An ‘in-house’ movement, too. Never serviced, just patched-up and still reliably going strong.

Just great value.

I do like these.

Does the one on the rubber strap wear bigger than the others?

Was looking at this Triton variant
https://www.timeshop24.co.uk/orient-ra-ac0k03l10b-...

But the 43mm models are a tad large on lug to lug length for those lacking chubby company director/stair-dominating grade wrists.

So your pepsi is a good trade off for size, spec and price for more spindly wristed IT geeks (think that one is same size as Ray 2/Mako 2?).

Yes, the one on the rubber strap is much larger and has a mineral crystal, this is the pepsi I have, Orient do a few variants but this is the one with the Sapphire Crystal in the OP:

https://www.creationwatches.com/products/orient-au...

It wears much smaller than the 43mm diameter implies and would wear fine on a smaller wrist.

These all look very interesting. I know very little about Orient but I’m about to do some research…

Strapcode bracelet arrived today and I have slapped it onto the Orient project watch. Seriously impressed by the bracelet, I don't recall my Rolex bracelets being much better.

Thread revival! Can attest, strapcode really elevates these watches.

Just got a couple of these in for posterity.
LOVE the quality on them, crazy they can put them out for that money. No wonder they have such a staunch following.

Despite being a seiko fanboy i've never had an Orient but i'm seriously considering adding one to the collection.

Love both of them!
Thanks. My little boys picked them out themselves, although they thought I was inquiring for me.
The eldest (8) loves roman numerals, although he is very disappointed that he can't seem to find a watch that says IV instead of IIII.
So if anyone has a mod where I could "fix" that dial, he'd be ecstatic hehe.
