Can anyone advise what the correct offset is for 280i?
(and how important it is or isn't)

Mine are being replaced by the nice insurance assessor chappie because some of them aren't round anymore.

p.s. Steve, it ain't in the bible....next edition maybe?

Look for an ET number stamped on the wheel.
It's not in the book because there are so many variations.

The Tassie boys have 15 inch compomotives made for them BTW. Good be a good option.

The ET is about 35 but there isn't much tolerance. As Steve said its cast onto the inside of the wheel - let us know what it reads. You might also consider a change to 16" wheels to allow you to use state of the art tyres see TYRE SIZES? near the bottom of page 1.

For the record the offset on my Oz lattice 15" wheels (1984 280i) is 23mm positive. This is the same as early '80s Mercedes.
