Clutch fluid change
Discussion
havihg checked the level of clutch fluid every fe2 years I've never actually charged it. On the basis its hygroscopic (absorbs water) I don't see any service schedule to change it.
So does it need changing and on what frequency? Also is it a straight fwd process or convoluted,? I see no refernce is Steve Heaths bible either, and ive jit changed it in 18 years?

Good question. I don’t recall seeing the clutch fluid mentioned in the same way we talk about changing brake fluid.
I suppose it’s not as critical as the brake fluid but it would be a good idea to change it at least once every 18 years.
It should be easy.
Hose onto the bleed nipple.
I usually syringe out whatever is in the master reservoir.
Make sure the level in the oddly angled master reservoir is topped up.
Ideally get your assistant to press the clutch pedal down while you open and close the bleed nipple.
Caution. It only takes a couple of strokes of the clutch pedal to empty the reservoir so keep an eye on the level.
It can be done without an assistant. I managed it by putting the end of the hose into a jar of brake fluid and pumped it through after changing my slave cylinder.
Best wishes
