Fiat Coupe 20V VIS - Shedding with Style
Discussion
Along with every other new car, my I20N has been delayed 3 times now and could arrive anytime between tomorrow and Autumn. Sensing the opportunity to own something different for what could be a matter of weeks I've taken a deposit on my perfectly reliable, practical, and fun, Panda 100HP.
Before doing so, I reached out on the Fiat Coupe Owners Club Facebook group, (who were very friendly and helpful when I had my 20V Turbo last year) to see if anyone had a cheap, non-turbo Coupe to sell (my budget is around £1500).
Luckily the local Coupe specialist got in touch and said they had exactly what I was looking for. A couple of Facebook messages later and he's going to drag it out of his storage, get an MOT on it and change the belts, and then it will be mine!
It's a very fetching shade of lilac (or 'Portofino Blue' as Fiat call it), has well over 100,000 miles and hasn't been used for a few years.
The good news is, it's a later VIS model which means it had a smidgen more power than the standard 20V non-turbos (about 154bhp in total I think), has been described as being a pretty straight car and is coming from someone I trust to make sure it's at least vaguely reliable.
It also looks like it has a stainless exhaust, which will sound bloody wonderful without a turbo to get in the way (who needs power anyway right?)
That's all I know. I'm now waiting for it to be 'prepared' and hopefully will pick it up over the next couple of weeks if all goes to plan. I do know my wife is overjoyed at my logical decision making process and my daughter is genuinely excited that I'm getting a purple car.

Don't know if it is the same car but someone has put a similar car for sale on ebay:

Today was my first time ever driving a Coupe on the road, I was pleasantly surprised, the engine is super smooth and sounds fantastic, goes well for a non turbo.
The FIAT was intended to be a lockdown project for my son to take over when it was finished but he's bought himself an Alfa GT and doesn't need the Coupe.
I really wish I could keep it but I don't want to part with my E46 BMW 328Ci which I’ve had for nearly 18 years and don't have garage space for another car.
