Are they worth all the extra cash?

If yes how

My friends are not too sure about spending the extra.
So I thought I would ask you lot

If the weather is anything like this year then YES, to be able to get a decent seat in the shade was great.

Some tickets also give you access to other places like the pitlane and the club ouest bits, though MRI failed to mention this to us and we only found out when we got home!

If it's wet - YES
If it's hot - YES
If you want a decent view at the start and finish without the agro of thousands of people fighting for the same view, then YES. They are a real haven.

So is that a YES then

I am the only one in our small group of 3 who wants to, the other 2 are a bit short on the cash. and I don't want to be sitting on my own in the grandstand

...and try to get a grandstand with a good view of one of the TV screens, so you can see other parts of the circuit, the leaderboard and the in-car stuff.

Thanks Johnathan.

Mmmm. Depends on what you want to see I suppose.

Pit exit lets you see the cars at slow speed and there is a big screen to keep you informed at what is going on - can see the cars from the exit of the Ford chicane almost all the way to the Dunlop chicane.

Midway down the start finish gives an excellent view of the start and finish and you can just about see the big screen at the pit exit and the cars coming through the Ford chicane. Gives good views of the pit action for most teams.

Ford chicane - good views of the cars in close proximity. You can see (and hear) the cars for the full length of the pit straight, but there is (was) no screen to give you what is happening on the rest of the circuit.

Not yet tried the stand by the Dunlop bridge so cannot comment, however having stood by the bridge you get a good view and there appears to be an amount of action at that point in the circuit.

All assumes you can stay awake during the race though

Personally I would say that they arent necessary but if you have the cash spare, get one opposite the exit to the pit lane and in view of the big screen...

what stand is this?
