Prove there is a god.
Discussion
Something on another thread got me thinking about this. I'm an agnostic, although I'm not really sure or that worried about what came before the big bang. I'm always open to discussion however. Thus far, nothing has managed to sway my belief that there simply can't be a god.
Now to me, this makes all religion and all religious wars seem a bit silly really. So, the challenge is a simple one. Can anyone prove the existence of a god?

Now it is such a bizarrely improbable coincidence that anything so mind-bogglingly useful [as the Babel fish] could have evolved purely by chance that some thinkers have chosen to see it as a final and clinching proof of the nonexistence of God.
The argument goes like this: “I refuse to prove that I exist,” says God, “for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing.”
“But,” says Man, “The Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn’t it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don’t. QED.”
“Oh dear,” says God, “I hadn’t thought of that,” and promptly disappears in a puff of logic.
“Oh, that was easy,” says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed on the next zebra crossing.
Most leading theologians claim that this argument is a load of dingo’s kidneys, but that didn’t stop Oolon Colluphid making a small fortune when he used it as the central theme of his best-selling book, Well That about Wraps It Up for God.
Meanwhile, the poor Babel fish, by effectively removing all barriers to communication between different races and cultures, has caused more and bloodier wars than anything else in the history of creation.

"Dear Lord: The gods have been good to me. For the first time in my life, everything is absolutely perfect just the way it is. So here's the deal:
You freeze everything the way it is, and I won't ask for anything more. If that is OK, please give me absolutely no sign. OK, deal. In gratitude, I present you this offering of cookies and milk. If you want me to eat them for you, give me no sign. Thy will be done." - Homer Simpson.

Definition of Faith (in a religious sense)
I personally don't believe in God, or heaven / hell.
I believe in fate. i.e. what will be, will be.
Religion IMHO is dished out by control freaks to the weak.

nice one Jon - particularly leaving the zebra crossing reference in that most people forget...
