Does anyone know if O.E.M parts are any good? I understand O.E.M is the brand, trying to pass as OEM.

I ordered Febi Bilstein engine mounts from autodoc and they have sent what looks like O.E.M mounts with the part number and details wiped off the label. They came in the Febi Bilstein boxes.

After over an hour chasing them through the chat function they have said there's no way I can prove they aren't Febi Bilstein as there's no part number on them. I thought autodoc were a different class to eurocarparts but turns out I was wrong.

It is not unknown for the manufacturers of OEM parts e.g. Febi to produce more quantity than the car factories need and due to various tooling and copyright issues, they scrape off the brand name and sell the excess as OEM/OEQ. Autodoc are pretty good to be fair. I don' think you need to worry.

O.E.M is the brand

I don't mean OEM as in Original Equipment Manufacturer.

my point still stands. The box you might not like but it reads as though you have a Bilstein part with the logo removed.

Are you sure that these aren't actually OEM parts despite being sold as this O.E.M labelling you mention?
As I'm sure you're aware & has already been mentioned car manufacturers buy their parts in from various other makers.
Even from a dealer they might come in a fancy box with the car brand logo all over it but when you open the box the part has the maker's brand on it.
Hopefully the dealer part will be the latest evolution of that part & that's something I've experienced with HGs - which, due to experience, I will usually only buy from the franchised dealer. Last one was MLS from the dealer, the other makes from various motor factors were all composite.

If you're not happy with the parts return them.

Then source replacements from a franchised dealer's parts dept.

The Part visually matches the O.E.M brand. Not Bilstein. Hense the disappointment. If you received a Casio in a Rolex box would you just crack on?

Does anyone have views on O.E.M as a brand?

The rest of my order was all good, clutch, spark plugs, flexi brake pipe, drop links. However, Autodocs customer service is abysmal.

Have you got a link to the exact product on the Autodoc website to show the O.E.M branding?

Might help clear this up.

[Pedant mode] Febi Bilstein are not an OEM supplier, they're exclusively aftermarket [/Pedant mode]

And as an aside they're nothing to do with Bilstein the suspension company, which seems to be a common misconception.

Order just about any part from a main dealer and the box will have made in China, Taiwan or Mexico on it, rarely, if ever, made in the USA.

Come on OP...we're all waiting for photos/links for your non-FebiBilstein OEM O.E.M engine mount.

BTW, how are you visually comparing this mount to an O.E.M branded mount when there doesn't seem to be a brand called O.E.M listed anywhere on Autodoc?

Yes, I'm not sure I've heard of a brand called O.E.M., and nor can I find reference to them online?

Gross thread diversion, but for an example of one manufacturer's parts being billed as from another, see:

Neither have I.

Do they make driveshafts for Renaults? Are they better than GKN, (where the spline that fitted in the gearbox was covered in dwarf)?

Looks like the OP has flounced after realising they have received exactly what they ordered and doesn't want to admit that they read the website incorrectly.

Almost certainly, yes.
