2x B1 Lancers in Mildenhall

2x B1 bombers arrived at Mildenhall today.

I hear one maybe doing a display on Sunday in Europe.

Might be some activity over the weekend.

Shame there has been no Mildenhall airshow for some years now - definitely one of UK's best.

Saw one of these at RIAT at RAF Cottesmore about 4 or 5 years ago and also at RAF Mildenhall when they used to do airshows there. It is one mean mother of an aircraft. it's an awsome sight seeing & hearing it take off.

Pity they cancelled the original design, the B1A, which was almost twice as fast.

A couple from Mildenhall today.

Even the APU is powerful on this thing, I was onboard during ground runs prior to an Airshow at Finningley. As I remember it's a 2 stage jobber and the whole aircraft lurches when it powers up. Lovely jubbly

Nice pics. I can almost feel the ground tremble. They are VERY noisy beasts.
