Presumably disappointed at no longer being able to the ‘all grown up’ thing about the children of famous people, they’ve broken new ground in terms of misogyny…

Telling that what started out this morning as.

"Tories accuse Angela Rayner of Basic Instinct ploy to distract Boris: MPs claim Labour deputy leader likes to put PM 'off his stride' by crossing and uncrossing her legs at PMQs"

Is now framed as.

"Boris Johnson leads backlash against 'misogynistic' attack on Angela Rayner after 'anonymous' Tories accused her of Basic Instinct-inspired ploy to 'put him off his stride' at PMQs"

Absolutely.

I remember in 2018 when there were some major Brexit crunch talks between Theresa May and Nicola Sturgeon, and the Mail covered it with a huge headline on the front page reading "Forget Brexit, who won Legs-it!" complete with photo of May and Sturgeon, in reference to the fact they were both wearing skirts.

I mean, what the actual fk? How far into the gutter do you have to be, to turn a serious meeting like that, into paragraphs full of utterly crass and brain-dead remarks about the legs of two politicians, instead of reporting what was actually discussed.

Speaks volumes about their readership I suppose, if they are happy to buy that absolute insult of a newspaper.

fking disgusting.

There also really needs to be stricter rules on 'anonymous' unattributed quotes.

I understand the need in some cases to 'protect your sources' (most definitely not this example) - but so much of these sorts of articles could very easily be complete and utter fabrications by the journos where there isn't a source at all.

As it is, it's impossible to say whether I should direct all my ire for the scum that wrote/published it, or whether I should reserve some for a wker in Parliament too.

The DM is the only paper that has majority female readership. Yet has more extensive and overt woman hating than any other outlet by a country mile.

I'm not sure what that says about the DM or the laydeez.

Having read the Mail at my parents house for my entire 50+ years I'd say it's simply about old fashioned conservatism. They only support the women that do things the way proper ladies did in the old days and definitely no Labour types.

I've no idea whether she's distracted Johnson or not, but she's certainly confused the Mail.

I know I will get flamed for this, but I think there is a very small grain of truth here, I try to watch every PMQ session , I wonder if floaty wrap around dresses that fall open at the legs and have loose fitting tops , although nice in the right situation , are perhaps not quite right to wear on the front bench in parliament . She is either very naïve , or very calculating .
This not only limited to her , look behind Boris at PMQs and the amount of flesh on show there is equal to Labour’s front bench

So what's the solution? Burqas?

The issue is not how they dress, it's about whether or not it's deliberately done as a distraction to the opposite sex. If they think it is, it's their problem, not hers.

On the one hand Johnson is the best man to lead the country.

On the other he can't keep his composure when a women crosses / uncrosses her legs.

Allegedly.

I think that’s more about the non news celeb/tv/gossip sections on the right though. I don’t think they’re not there for the frothy reactionary stoking articles about foreigners or the woke or whatever the mail is telling people to be angry about.
