Ebay non delivery ?

Sold some suspension bushes on eBay, £100 plus £10 delivery.
Sent them so they were signed for, have this saying they were delivered and signed for,

Buyer says they havent arrived, not sure if I am being played here, suppose they could have been dropped off and the delivery driver scribbled a signature.
Am on the verge of just refunding to avoid the agro but where do I stand here, I have a signature and a time of delivery, to the address provided. Dont want to just cave and refund if I can avoid it.

Not sure what to do next really.
They should escalate the case to ebay if they haven't already and open an item.not received case. If you provide ebay with the tracking data ebay will back you and close the case in your favour.

Annoying as the parts cost £200 plus, only got £100 for them and then looks like will lose that !
I didn't think anyone was signing for parcels? I've not been asked to sign for a parcel since the start of Covid. Often the courier or Royal Mail will have taken a picture at the open door of my house to prove delivery.
Contact Royal Mail and make sure they have delivered it to the correct address. I'm told their machines log location when a parcel is marked as delivered.

Even with GoSend - motorbike delivery service. My wife and her friends are often sending each other food. GoSend guys take photo with recipient.
Any courier packages, internal or overseas as well.
I was sent some legal docs from a notary last week - photo on delivery.
In five years - I've had one package lost. Some cheap replacement sunglass lenses.
(In UK I had a watch stolen in such an obvious manner by the courier and it took to the seller (in Germany) a hell of a time and effort to get money from courier/insurance.)
I think it is part of the delivery app/process - needs a photo to show completed delivery: as they are happy to leave packages with our maid; taking her photo.
To be clear this is not a photo of the house - which proves nothing - its photo of the person receiving the package.
The buyer can escalate the case. In the meantime you can open a case up with Royal Mail
I can't remember what they call it but its effectively a contested delivery case.

Fortunately it was resolved amicably as the actual recipient took it round to the intended recipient

Domestic or business address?
If domestic I would think they are trying to have one over on you - so long as its not Flat 348G, 100 Market St... IYSWIM.
If it was a business address the its a free for all.
We have had parcels delivered (by Royal Mail) to businesses not even on our street. Its quite common for them to just fly round in their vans throwing parcels out and getting stuff wrong. We often get stuff for neighbouring businesses.
I am on first name terms with a scaffolding firm about 200 yards away on the next street over as we regularly get their stuff and they get ours.

Long story short, although I used Signed For so Ebay would have found in my favour, which is crap for the buyer as he was adamant it didn't turn up....and it hadn't, I'd transposed the numbers on the house number, so it go delivered to the wrong house. However the postie had recorded the recipients name as the one on the letter and scribbled their initials as a signature. AND the transposed house number didn't exists, so the postie just delivered it to the 'closest match' and lied about the recipient.
So 2 things, check on the receipt that the house number definitely matches, and then log a complaint and get the PO to raise a ticket for lost mail.

With certain couriers it always goes to the right number in the wrong road, of course signed for, which doesn’t help. Sometimes they bring stuff round, very poor, you’d think they’d have some sort of gps system that suggests to the courier they might be at the wrong address

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one given my experience (probably about 40 items a year from/to ebay seller so not huge, but I certainly have about a 20% failure rate)When it comes to parcel services everyone has a different experience, but for us they provide a great service.

They don't take pictures (I asked them this last week when I queried the mis delivery issue)
You seem to have to take pot luck with either hoping your item will arrive, or pay them 'insurance' of Signed For for twice the price. Also, it's not tracked in any way until it gets delivered. That item, once it enters the system, has no event information as it makes it's way across the RM network that you have access to or that the RM can provide you so you, or they, have no idea where it went missing.

You have produced a Proof of Delivery to prove that it has.
The buyer now needs to come up with a reason why your courier has proof of delivery and why it isn't valid.
Let them escalate it to eBay, you should win.
