?? That isn't a dodgy photo. It's that bad to look at.

Belongs to the in-laws, and must have slipped gradually to this rather than sudden failure as they ceed there's something up (!) but didn't notice it.

Spent half an hour playing with all the settings and couldn't improve it - I'm thinking there's either a (lack of) backlight or a green issue and everything else is over compensating producing a massively over saturated image. It's properly migraine inducing.

And also, what's good in 43" telly's right now? Must be available in Australia, which rules out Panasonic, although I'm not sure that wouldn't be wasted...

Unless that's an HDMI problem as the poster above suggests, that's a hardware failure, seems there's a lot of this with a certain era of LGs. It can be repaired, in the UK it's seemingly about £150.

Had that with an old Plasma, would usually sort itself by turning it off and on, or hitting it hehe

I’d say the T-CON board has failed. It’s the lcd ‘drive’ board effectively - there’s a chip on them that fails with time / use and washes the picture out with a colour cast.

Easy enough to change if you can find one - eBay is your friend. There are often people selling them from sets that have had the wii controller thrown at them!
Just get TV model and board number.

My Dads LG TV has gone the exact same as the Ops. I'd tried resetting it, re-tuning it and there's no setting for RGB saturation so I can turn down the blue.

Glad I read this thread as it confirms what I thought, its Donald Ducked.

It's a backlight issue. Common with LG sets.

Yeah LG had a batch of LEDS that go purple.

I tried repairing one but it was a super fiddly job and while I got the screen backlights sorted one part of the screen was never the same again.

The price of TV's would just replace it.

I've had dozens of LGs from around 2017 with this issue, bad batch of LEDs I'm told,
