Changing from childcare vouchers to tax free childcare
Discussion
I’m changing jobs shortly and believe I’ll lose out on CVs due to changing employers. I have a fair balance with edenred which will cover nursery fees for a few months, but I have some questions
1) I currently sacrifice £100 per month to edenred. Am I allowed to sacrifice the remaining annual allowance from my final pay check? £100 deduction for April, £1100 in May - and that’s the end of CVs
2) How soon can we benefit from TFC? Do we need to exhaust the vouchers first, or then wait for the next financial year as I would’ve used this years CV allowance via salary sacrifice?
Partner never signed up to CVs so we’ve only ever benefitted from the £40pm saving (which in hindsight wasn’t the best way)

Not sure if Childcare vouchers have a limit, but if you or your partners ‘adjusted net income’ is going to be over £100k the government website pretty much automatically stop you from accessing Tax Free child care......Given this is Pistonheads this probably means most forum members aren't eligible for Tax Free child care

As I understand it, you can only buy a maximum of £243 vouchers per month (basic rate tax payers) and can't buy a whole years worth in one go.
You can switch to TFC straight away and still have CV in the 'bank' but you can't pay in to the 2 schemes at the same time.
Super, thank you. Shame you can't sacrifice the whole lot in advanceYou can switch to TFC straight away and still have CV in the 'bank' but you can't pay in to the 2 schemes at the same time.
Annoyingly I've just realised that I've missed out on three years worth of an extra £120 per month, as I've regarded my income as 'over £50k' (thus higher rate), but after my pension salary sacrifice I'm actually below £50k - thus should've been sacrifricing the whole £243. Bit late now!
