Well, after 6 months in the garage through winter, I depressed the clutch and accelerator to bring the oil pressure up, disconnected the battery tender, deflated the tires to the correct pressure and started right up with a growl.

Fired instantly, no hesitation, and drove like she should.

Gotta love my Aston.

That is great.

I don't like giving the government five hundred and something Pounds, for a car which they say is one of the worst polluters, but in realitly, only about 1,000 miles in 12 months must involve quite modest pollution.

Will therefore be waiting for 1st of the month.

And there is zero Road tax.

Is that no road tax for the whole year on all vehicles ?
Does the Canadisn government not try to 'milk' the motorists somehow?

You will remember when you were here, no road tax payment during winter lay-ups, but our fuel is very heavily taxed.
We even pay a sales tax on the fuel duty tax. Probably not many people realise, they are paying tax on a tax!

A new scam came up recently. When a car is sold, the road tax now expires immediately.
The seller only has a refund for whole months, but the buyer must pay immediately. They therefore get both motorists to pay rosd tax for the same month. You couldn't make it up.

No Road tax in ontario for any vehicle. We still have to get a sticker on the licence plate (mine is 8MT 216 A) 🤣 but they just stopped taxing us. I got a refund check for four vehicles for $900 or so.

Well, well, Mr. Bond, very good.

I am staggered.
When there is talk here of any tax cuts, the first thing said, is how are we going to make up for the 'lost' revenue.
This is happening with EVs and 'lower' emissions vehicles. Think they have Nil road tax and so the government are now mumbling about road pricing for vehicles, because their road tax revenue is gradually decreasing. Charge every motorist per mile and more at busy times. That might suit me, because a faily regular long journey to another home, could be done at night. It is the principle.

If Ontario have returned all this money, are they getting it back in other ways, cutting spending, or just have more efficient public services?

The approach in UK seems to be, that public spending must always continue to increase.
