Hinall

Going on holiday soon, want something for the kids to play with in the pool and beach but not at the cost of a go pro, anyone recommend anything?

Ideally under £100.

Cheers

Check out Apeman products.

https://uk.apemans.com/collections/action-camera

My eldest was after a GoPro a couple of years ago. Wasn't sure how long he would be amused by it, so didn't fancy springing for one...went with an Apeman and it works well.

Build quality isn't fantastic (battery door is very fiddly for example). But it gives decent footage.

For the exact same reason I bought a Nikon Coolpix W150 which produces ok videos and images - it works great and is still in great condition but in reality I just used my iPhone - it’s waterproof and works great around the pool and underwater plus image capture is excellent and zero faffing around with memory cards or connecting up to other devices…

Cheers.

Just not sure I'd trust an 8 year old with a phone yet but will have a think.

We have a Panasonic tough camera, looks like it's £130 now and it's great. The app is easy to use and it seems indestructible.

We have tried a GoPro knock off from amazon, but it needed a waterproof case, the app was terrible and battery life rubbish. Now also have a GoPro which is much better but battery life isn't great. The main advantage is size.

Apologies, just dug it out to see if it still works (its been untouched for a few years now) and it does, but its actually a CoolPix S32 - I paid about £50 for it from Jessops about 7yrs ago ... 10m Waterproof / 5ft Shockproof
