987 Battery

Afternoon all

recently had to call the RAC out as the car would not start. turns out it was the battyery. he plugged it in. and all has been "better"

the car doesn't get used often but everytime i do start it every few days it takes 2 seconds to finally start. (as if it JUST has enough battery to start)

the car has now not been used for a week and i've tried to start it and dead again.


the car did not do this when i first got it, the only things i can think of are the battery is on its way out or its the new head unit is sucking power out?

987.1 boxster.
92k miles.

also best place to buy new battery please?

problem found.

it was the cars upgraded head unit. Pioneer DAB android auto

when turned off the car was using 0.9 / 1 amp by doing nothing

when fuse taken out the car now does 0.07/0.1 turned off.

what can be done about this? now i have no music / headunit

guess not

left the car to "charge" last night for 30 mins.

this morning wont start. RAC called again.

new battery installed. all seems good

But won't it just keep on draining away until you solve the head unit issue?
