Well having just sorted / replaced the radiator went out for a spirited drive , got back just about to switch off and wipers started of there own accord and wouldnt stop no matter what I did with the wiper stalk. Have swapped out the R4relay which controls the wipers with no difference, fuse 32/33 are ok so begining to wonder if motor has a fault. Typical of Aston you cant even see the motor just wondering if anyone has changed one as it does appear to be a pig of a job ( even worse than the rad) . Any way of testing the motor in situe ? All the stalk functions work just cant turn the wipers off.

Any suggestions gratefully accepted, dont you just love these cars

Hi, sorry to hear that. Yes, the wiper motor is an absolute epic of a job and from memory, the engine has to be dropped for access. I would test every other possibility before going there!

Presuming this is on a V8 Vantage? If so no need to drop the engine, but the intake manifold does need to come out

Not sure of how handy you are , there’s a possibility that there could be corrosion inside the circuit board in the engine bay fuse box. I’ve replaced more fuse boxes than wiper motors. Hope you get sorted. X

Sorry Ian just seen your reply. Best way to check is to disconnect the full fuse box safely , battery off ect and split the box open to reveal the circuit board and check for corrosion.

Presuming it’s just a matter of taking out the 2 bolts ( top and bottom ) then just lifting it out and disconnecting the cable plugs on the rear ?

Still having the intermitent wiper fault , am thinking of swapping out the fuse box as suggested above. The relays in the box are all jag relays and the box itself looks identical to the jag xjx one which is a damn site cheaper than the Aston one. Can anyone confirm that they are the same part ?

I have to say that living in Virginia I have never deliberately turned on my wipers or used them on my DB9.

However, it wouldn't surprise me that the motor has to come out to get them out. I frequently wonder how repairs are done at dealerships - I am often forced to get one of my kids to jam their hand in where mine won't fit.

As it stands ive currently pulled the fuse for the slow speed wiper function to stop em continuously running , the wipers still work when I push up the stalk for fast speed but the wipers will not auto park when I knock the stalk off , the wipers just stop so I have to judge it that I stop em at the bottom of there travel.
This makes me think there may be a problem with the park switch in the motor.

What makes it worse is that its a intermitant fault, Im looking at the cheapest option first which is swapping out the fuse box and like ive said it looks identical to the jag one

I realise that this is an old topic but I have exactly the same fault and I have replaced both the in car and under bonnet fuse box and wiper stalk to no avail.
Did you get to the bottom of this and if so how did you fix it?
Thank you.
Regards.

Sorry to hear your having issues, thankfully I eliminated my issues down to the wiper stalk which turned out to be from a ford focus which sorted the issue.
I have to say i breathed a hugh sigh of releif as the thought of changing the motor was giving me cold sweats
