With the hooooge amount of numpties on the roads, I was thinking of a method of getting them to pay for repairs to my car.

I don't mean going out and deliberately crashing into them just for the sake of claiming off the insurance, but rather 'not avoiding' accidents as frequently as we do.

i.e. On Monday going to the airport I was in a controlled velocity traffic system [jam] tootling along at 30mph. Just as I reach my junction and am indicating to leave the motorway, a cünt in a Fücksall Vectra shoots up the inside on the hard shoulder and nearly takes my wing off. It was pure luck that I didn't hit him.

Now the 'hypothetical' question is should I have just lightly grazed him (and/or any other numpties doing the same in different circumstances) and got my dented wing repaired on their insurance.

There are so many near misses these days that are only near misses due to my rapid avoidance that I believe I could get every panel replaced/repaired within a fortnight if I was to be less 'extreme' with my avoidance.

How would this be viewed by the BiB and PiWW on this esteemed forum - al hypothetically of course.

a) Do you really want the hassle?
b) Will they learn from the experience and become better drivers?
c) Would you enjoy having to declare these 'grazes' to your insurer at renewal (you have to declare any accidents regardless of fault).

I suspect the answer to all the above is NO. Having said that, I've often wished I was in an old banger so I could have rammed the fcuk out of some of the plonkers I've witnessed in recent times.

IMO, you can never 'win' with the insurers.. you have to fight so hard and have such cast iron evidence to get the insurers to record a 'not at fault' accident..

I've known people to be sat at a roundabout, someone run into the back of them and then for it to be settled knock-for-knock by the insurers out of expediency to themselves. And you can't intervene - you have to go to the ombudsman to get the shit changed.

If it was that easy, we'd all be doing it...

(All AFAIK, free advice worth what it costs etc etc..)

trouble is the day you do it, the other driver will probably either drive off, be uninsured or be carryinga flick knife. Just isnt worth it.
