Since the disappointment of a place Pitstart has shut down, I did a search for other similar places and I found a place called Ramp Garage in Iver, and I am very glad for having done that. Ramp Garage is a world away.

Its a clean space, with good lighting, good two post lifts and very reasonable rates.

Paul even helped me out by welding up a small hole in my exhaust that I had no idea about, as a semi-permanent repair.

I also changed the diff oil, which was really over due judging by the metal build up on the magnet. I'll be back at some point to do the transmission oil.

I think places like this need to be promoted, they're invaluable and provide a genuine service. I don't imagine the insurance and set up to run a place like this is easy. It really beats rolling around the floor in the garage or driveway.

Echo the above, I took the wife's car there not that long ago to fit a new starter motor as didn't fancy laying under the car at home. Great facilities and Paul's a decent chap. I'd definitely recommend giving them a go if you don't have the space or convenience to do repairs at home.

Awww wish I had a place like that near me, I'm 60 miles away so a bit far.

Just an fyi all you’ve covered up there are silencers. Your cats are actually just off the exhaust manifolds

Isn't the hybrid an exception? Presumably engine bay space was at a premium so they moved them down-stream:

No the engine Bay Area is unaffected by the hybrid system, from memory, as the HV battery is kind of under the rear seats and the cabling is all related to the gearbox as that’s where the motor generators are.

Plus if you look at the diagram you linked there’s only space for 1 02 sensor on either bank and they have upstream and downstream sensors

It's funny how confident it makes people sound when they say just FYI, even though they are wrong.

This car has four cats, two of them are just off the manifold and difficult to steal. The ones that normally get targeted on these are the secondary cats which is what I've protected.
