On BBC once a week, bunch of celebs live together and carry out various challenges with Wim Hof. Surprisingly watchable and finding out lots about the celebrities. Without spoiling anything, Patrice Evra is a remarkable person. I do not usually watch or like shows like this but they have a good blend here and all the celebs seem lovely people and have formed a very strong bond.

Listen to wim hof on Joe rogan podcast. He’s an interesting guy. He’s been on a couple of times, well worth a listen.

Not normally my type of show, but finding this very enjoyable and, at times, powerful viewing.

Really enjoying it too. Had already been doing some Wim Hof style showers, (only 10-15s cold) but have tried to do them whenever I shower at home now (don't have the option of temp control at the gym showers where I work). Can stay under for a good minute and always feel really good after them. His breathing technique is on YouTube too, fancy giving that a go.
I find his positivity really infectious.

Yes - I find him very convincing. On the last one I saw, ex Man Utd player Patrice Evra stayed in freezing water for about 15 minutes and had to be bullied to get out of it. The interesting thing was that from the start of the series he was the biggest moaner of all of the celebrities. Everything they were asked to do he immediately said "Oh, I cant do that, I don't want to do that ". Some very, very interesting stories about both the celebs and Wim Hof too. (Including Evra.)

yeah, I thought Patrice was a bit of a whinger and precious to start with - then he started talking about his dad using cold water to punish/abuse him as a kid - and then the other stuff. What a horrible start, really quite remarkable that he was able to turn his life around. I get the impression these celebs are not just doing this for a bit of a jolly/paying job - they all genuinely seem like they need some help and are "all in" on Wim's approach.

Just finished watching this series. The time with Hoff seems to have made a tangible difference to those who took part, some genuinely emotional moments.

Really enjoyed the whole series and I was a skeptic at the start.

Me too. There's so much fakery on TV but it all looked genuine and just worked for me. I'm full of admiration for those that took part because I absolutely hate cold water. I used to do triathlon at quite a serious level and never got used to the cold water. Utterly horrible.

But that wasn't really the point of the programme which was about facing any fear, not specifically the cold.

Wim Hof was nice to Stephen Manderson (Professor Green) in the final programme when he wouldn't to the jump from the bridge. Manderson's explanation was quite moving but utterly logical at the same time.

I've never watched Strictly Come Dancing but now have a bit of a thing about Diane Buswell. But that's my problem. smile

One last thing - it was interesting to learn about all of the people in the programme. Gabby Yorath is certainly a strong personality but quite intense and it made me want to show some support for Alfie Boe. Even in the last programme he still sounded sad; perhaps that's just his speaking voice.

Oh yes, I've never been particularly into Holly Willoughby but she did manage to look super-cute, even when covered from head to toe.
