Frozen State Pension
Discussion
I haven't been resident in the Uk for the last 26 years, and have other extended periods of non-residentcy predating this. But I have a full Uk state pension, as a result of Nhi payments.
This pension is frozen at 2017 levels, i.e. the year i reached 65 and started to draw it down.
I may retire at the end of this year and return to the UK.
All the major isssues are in order, wife has residency rights, we have a house, bank account etc.
But I cant find any information, on how to 'unfreeze' the pension.
Does any one have any knowledge of this? One question is, what is the period of residency required prior to submiting an application?
I'd appreciate anyones experience of this subject

If you visit the UK from a "frozen" country, the state pension will be paid at the current rate whilst you are there - as long as you apply in advance. Then revert when you leave the UK again.
Frozen UK state pensions are disgusting - you are forced to pay NI when in the UK, but forced to accept a lower payout just because.
Fortunately the NZ state pension starts at 65, and you simply have to live here for 10 years. 175 pounds a week.
