No lights on bridge so replaced new unused spare. App has picked up that new item added to system but as bridge no longer supported nothing in app to add replacement bridge.
Know bridge is no longer supported but don't want to spend money on boost. Has bridge got any advantages/disadvantages to direct connecting to router. If so any idea how to get system working with it. In my mind having a sonos mesh wifi must be better then adding to my existing router wifi .

Have 2 play 5's 2 paly 1's all S!. One play1 which maybe S2 ( not sure) Router wifir signal in bedroom with play1's week but they have always worked OK with bridge.

Grateful for any help, thanks

I'd do away with it altogether and just go direct in to the router. This has been the "proper" way to do it for ages and with good reason.

If you have issues then you have issues with your wider WiFi network.....

I bought a Bridge recently from CEX for £4! I still use one so I can use my Sonos remote.

Just a thought, but how do you know it is the Bridge that has failed and not the power supply?
I ask only because i am now on my 2nd (albeit cheap far-east import special jobby) power supply for my Bridge after the original went south about 5 years ago.

Tanks for replies. After saying I would never spend any more cash on sonos products I have bouht a boost(£70 a current offer of 30% off direct from sonos) to keep system working. All speakers (5) are series 1 so not an insignificant spend for me of above £1k at time of purchase. Only to find that it still looks likely that it will all be "bricked" by Sonos at some stage.
Property is a 1930's bungalow and constructed from "Anstone" which apparently is reconstituted concrete(not genuine quarried stone) so despite using many wifi providers always had problem because of 2 external walls for signal to reach some rooms. But bridge always worked fine.
Still got my old controller but not sure how to set up after being on app for many years
Have new spare power supply but didn't bring bridge back to life.

Many threads on PH about alternatives to Sonos but all seem to involve a chunky cash outlay so just hope Sonos keep supporting S! products

Apologies if this seems like a thread hijack, but a genuine question relating to your situation and mine. I started with SONOS when I got a Playbar about 9 years ago, and I’ve built it up over the years. The odd Play1 for Christmas, a couple of Ikea Symfonisks when had a bit of spare cash. I’m at the point I’m pretty happy with what I have. Which is; a Playbar with 2 Play1’s in the lounge, a Play1 in the kitchen, a Symfonisk bookshelf in my bedroom, another in my office, a Boost attached to the router and a Connect ZP90 connected to my turntable. I’m using the S1 App as that’s what my components will handle.

Now, I’m quite happy with all that. Happy to play Spotify, TuneIn and my vinyl through it and what the TV does. Question is, will it all be bricked soon? Will I not be able to use it all all?

Who knows, they got enough of a kicking last time. It's going to happen eventually but from what I can see there's nothing planned, though I think the official line is Sonos will support a product for 5 years after discontinuation when in practice it's been much longer than that.
