Bank account for sports club
Discussion
I need to set up an account for our shooting syndicate.
Turnover is approx £12000 a year. All work done by ourselves and there is a habitat improvement component to the work we do with the land we lease. No employees. Subscriptions pay for the birds, feed, rent, supplies and diesel for the working guns.
I am aware that banks aren't so keen on free/cheap accounts for clubs and charities partly because the signatories are always turning over. This shouldn't be a problem for us as there is a core group which other than for health reasons is unlikely to change.
Does anyone have any advice about what approach to take and which banks are more likely to help?

Be careful. Some banks wont touch anything firearms related. They will let you get down the road and then close the account...
We use Santander at our club. There is a bit of extra faff involved but its possible. We just went through the process of re-verifying the account last year and we needed to get a solicitor involved to deal with it, verify the documents and sign off on the club constitution / member rules etc.

Thanks. I expect this might be the case when the decision to open the account is at the discretion of an individual bank employee who may be anti fieldsports or just illogically risk averse. That's why I was clear what we did in the OP.Santander seems to be favoured by other small organisations
