Hi all,

First time posting in here. Has anyone got any recommendations for a company that could do a refurbishment of a set of SU HS6 carburetters?

The throttle shaft has worn and its sucking air through, I know they can be drilled and have the bushes replaced (and maybe new shafts if they have gone too).

I believe this is the sort of thing best left to someone with the correct tools so I'm happy to pay for good service. I'm based in the South East but I assume that posting carbs off isn't an issue.

Thanks!

Burlen.co.uk are the main supplier of SU spares, and I think also do rebuilds.

As above,

Burlen services, based in Sailsbury, can't go wrong with them.

I've always been happy with the service I've had from Burlen, the other contact I've used for rebuilding SU carbs is David Lonsdale of Classic Carburetters Cirencester. I think some other people in this forum have used him too.

David used to advertise in the XK Club mag and I bought a pair of HD8s from him which he built to replace the 6's on my XK150 years back. Later on he helped with moving to triple carbs.

Usual disclaimer, no connection I'm just a happy customer.

Andrew Turner has just done a set of triple and a set of doubles for me.

You deal with the boss -who also has been doing it for more than 30 years.

The boss is also the engineer!
